The Pittsburgh Builders Exchange has awarded thousands of dollars to students with construction industry goals in mind. Our goal is to assist the students in pursuing careers in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction Management fields.

Beginning in 1979, the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange started working along with Penn State University in attracting and retaining students pursuing careers in the construction industry. In addition, the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange has committed a pledge of $25,000 to support the efforts of the University of Pittsburgh to “build” a Construction Management program.

The Pittsburgh Builders Exchange annually awarded two scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each. Due to the increasing costs of education, the Board of Directors decided to increase the scholarship amounts to $3,000 each.

In the spring, the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange opens the application process to firms that are members of our association. They are awarded in July after review by the Board of Directors.

Above are just a couple of examples of the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange and its Directors’ ongoing commitment to the encouragement and betterment of our industry. We are proud of the fact that we can help these students and hope that they in return will someday make contributions to the construction industry.
